What Search.ITISYOU is

What this is

General-web coverage comes from Brave Search, an independent web search provider. Those results are labelled "Live web". We never claim a live-web page was crawled by us, and we do not re-brand Brave's results as our own.

Alongside them, Search.ITISYOU runs its own crawler over a selective, growing set of real websites we've chosen or that owners have submitted and had approved. Those results are labelled "ITISYOU indexed"; every one was actually fetched, parsed and stored by us. This independent index remains deliberately selective - it is not, and does not try to be, internet-wide.

Ranking of our own index is deterministic and versioned: the same query against the same index version returns the same order, and every ITISYOU-indexed result stays traceable to the exact document version and crawl timestamp it came from. There is no hidden personalization and no bidding for placement.

What V1 does not do

Being honest about scope matters more to us than sounding bigger than we are. Right now:

• Our own index is not internet-wide. The breadth of the web comes from Brave; the ITISYOU index is limited to the hosts we've crawled so far, so a page missing from it usually just means we haven't reached it yet.
• No AI-generated answers are active. This version has no AI summary, chat or answer box - results are plain links to real pages.
• No images, maps or shopping results. This version returns web pages only.

Where this is going

New capabilities get added when we can build them on real, verifiable data and show they work honestly - not to make the product look more capable than it is. If a feature can't be evidenced, it doesn't ship.

Crawling runs continuously inside fixed safety and cost budgets. If it's ever paused to stay inside those, search keeps working from what's already indexed - current status and crawler details are always public.
